Background of 2025 3rd Asia Transportation Ecology Forum

Asia possesses the largest population and the most extensive transport infrastructure in the world. At the same time, it is extremely rich in biodiversity, diverse ecosystem and landscape resource. The pursuit of economic development across developing countries and regions within Asia urgently requires the rapid construction and modernisation of transport infrastructure. However, this progress must be carefully balanced with the major challenges and responsibilities associated with of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration.

To facilitate the exchange of research findings and collaboratively explore effective approaches for the harmonious integration of transportation development and nature conservation, the first and second Asia Transportation Ecology Forum were held in December 2021 and October 2023, respectively, along with the inaugural Asia-Europe Transportation Ecology Forum in October 2022. These three events collectively brought together nearly 600 scholars from 15 Asian nations, and 22 countries across other continents, yielding fruitful outcomes and fostering meaningful academic and professional engagement......
